School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA) is the professional association for school system executives and their leadership teams.

Who We Serve

School Superintendents of Alabama is the only association in Alabama serving all school superintendents and members of their leadership teams. SSA has approximately 1,525 members representing 138 public school systems, along with individual, retired, associate, and business members.

Representing Alabama’s School Leaders

SSA is a professional nonprofit organization composed of superintendents and school system leaders from across Alabama who are committed to improving education for Alabama’s children. SSA’s full-time staff represents members’ viewpoints throughout the year before the Legislature, the Governor’s Office, the State Board of Education, and other policy-making bodies. SSA also keeps members informed about important education and legislative issues.
