School Superintendents of Alabama

District Meetings

Local opportunities for superintendents to connect, collaborate, and address issues affecting Alabama’s school systems.

Annual Meeting Calendars

Each SSA district establishes its own annual meeting calendar. Many districts select a regular day and week each month, such as the third Friday during lunch, to make participation consistent and convenient.

The Value of District Meetings

Networking

Build relationships with superintendents and school leaders from nearby systems.

Sharing Ideas

Exchange successful practices, new ideas, and innovations from school systems across the district.

Discussing Key Issues

Discuss concerns, emerging challenges, and issues affecting public education and district leadership.

Informing SSA’s Work

Many SSA actions and priorities begin with issues raised during district meetings. These discussions help ensure that SSA’s advocacy, professional learning, and member services reflect the concerns and needs of superintendents across Alabama.

Business Member Participation

District meetings also provide opportunities for SSA Business Members to network with superintendents and share information about their organizations, services, and resources.

Participation opportunities may be arranged directly with the district president.
